Making analogy with the children&#8217;s story of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Emperor's_New_Clothes\">The King&#8217;s New Clothes<\/a>, this is equivalent to a courtier saying that those fancy new clothes that we&#8217;ve all been admiring aren&#8217;t really there.<\/p>\n<p>The language of the UK Chancellor (head of the Treasury) was direct. Guardian report <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/politics\/2008\/aug\/30\/alistairdarling.economy\"><em>Storm Warning<\/em> here<\/a>.  BBC report <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/business\/7589291.stm\"><em>Darling Warns of Economic Crisis<\/em>  here<\/a>.  FT Report <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/cms\/s\/0\/9662fac2-768f-11dd-99ce-0000779fd18c.html?nclick_check=1\"><em>Worst crisis for 60 years, says UK chancellor<\/em> here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Its a good start.  But others need to make the same exclamation.  And we need to decide who (or maybe what) the king is.  So that we can rehabilitate the deluded monarch.<\/p>\n<p>That will require the adoring public to change behaviour.  To start taking personal responsibility.
