{"id":2067,"date":"2013-12-17T11:24:57","date_gmt":"2013-12-17T11:24:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/astraea.net\/blog\/?p=2067"},"modified":"2013-12-21T10:16:28","modified_gmt":"2013-12-21T10:16:28","slug":"printer-problems-fixed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.astraea.net\/blog\/printer-problems-fixed\/","title":{"rendered":"Printer problems &#8230; fixed."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After cleaning print head and deep cleaning print heads and still not getting a decent print out, I came across this site <a href=\"http:\/\/www.printerknowledge.com\/\">PrinterKnowledge<\/a>, started by Rob Ludlow&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nifty-stuff.com\/\">nifty-stuff.com<\/a>, which helped understand the nature of the problem.\u00a0 (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.printerknowledge.com\/threads\/anatomy-of-a-canon-print-head.6190\/\">Anatomy of a Canon print head helped a lot &#8211; see photo below<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>It was the print head, but it needed more careful attention.\u00a0 And it was clogged, but asking the printer to clean the print head didn&#8217;t resolve the problem because it can not actually dissolve the clogged ink in the print head.\u00a0 Fortunately there was some solvent left on the shelf from JetTec.\u00a0 Patiently cleaning the head with solvent, q-tips and paper towels for half and hour, then letting it dry did the job.\u00a0 (By the way, if necessary you might need to inject solvent through the print head or soak overnight, but you decide!)<\/p>\n<p>Checkout <a href=\"http:\/\/www.printerknowledge.com\/\">PrinterKnowledge<\/a> if you&#8217;re having trouble.\u00a0 It could save you time and money.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nifty-stuff.com\/img\/files\/Pig_Nozzle_Photo.jpg?resize=640%2C480\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After cleaning print head and deep cleaning print heads and still not getting a decent print out, I came across this site PrinterKnowledge, started by Rob Ludlow&#8217;s nifty-stuff.com, which helped understand the nature of the problem.\u00a0 (Anatomy of a Canon print head helped a lot &#8211; see photo below.)
